What is Minima?

Minima is the world's first truly decentralized blockchain network, enabling everyone to freely connect and prosper. Minima is accountable, autonomous, inclusive, resilient, scalable, secure, uncensored and lightweight.

What is the Minima Innovation Challenge?

The Minima Innovation Challenge is a two month long competition designed to find innovative and potentially unique applications for the protocol, ideally outside of what has already been conceived. Now is your chance to shine!

What are the competition prizes?

The total prize pool is USD $40,000 in Minima Tokens.

The Top 10 teams from the Ideation Phase will receive USD $1,000 worth of Minima Tokens and will move on to the Coding Phase of the Innovation Challenge.

The remaining balance will be distributed at the judge's discretion.

What are the judging criteria?

The submissions will be evaluated based on the following criteria.

At the end of Phase 1: Ideation, teams will not need to deliver any code yet, however, a brief presentation of the idea accompanied by a written description will need to be shared. This includes a discussion of market fit, why the idea is uniquely suited for the Minima Protocol, and what the competitive landscape looks like.

For the teams who make it to Phase 2: Coding, you will need to provide at least a Proof of Concept. The judges will look for teams that show more long-term thinking, including ideas around how to productise their project.

Concessions may be made if an idea is amazing, even if its deployment of it still requires extra support.

Innovation – is this a good or even novel idea?
Application of Minima Protocol – is this project utilizing Minima well? Does it embrace Minima’s full potential?
Market fit – is this something that is needed on the market? Was the productization strategy presented?
Quality of presentation – was the pitch convincing? Does the team want to move this to the next level?
Quality of code – is the project coded in a professional way?
Roadmap – are the next steps clear and actionable?

What are the deadlines I should be aware of?

Submission Period: 13/07/22 to 02/08/22
Phase 1 Ideation: 18/07/22 to 05/08/22
Phase 2 Coding: 09/08/22 to 30/08/22
Judging/Voting Period: 31/08/22 to 06/09/22
Winners Announced: 15/09/22
Distribution of Prizes: Within 30 days after “Winners Announced”.
Dates and timings are subject to change. All changes will be communicated to participants.

Do I have to attend the events?

No, but if you are in London, please consider coming - it is a great way to network, plus maybe you will be one of the winning teams?

How do I send in my submission?

You will need to submit it through Github.

What do I need to submit?

Discord is a good place. We will also be hosting “Office Hours” where you will be able to ask Minima tech questions and EdenBase business questions.

Will the prizes be subject to any vesting period?

The prize tokens will not be subject to any vesting period and, once Minima is listed on exchanges, they can be traded.

What are the tax obligations?

Any tax obligations are dependent on the beneficiaries' tax status and jurisdiction. Advice should be sought from a qualified professional advisor.
